On January 3, 1993, Richard Dean Fischer was born in Rochester, New York, to parents Lisa Fischer and Mark Fischer. When Richie first smiled, he made us smile, too. Then he began to laugh, and that cracked us up even more. Soon, he started running about, and this was to be his general pattern for the next thirty years-smile, laugh, run, laugh more until his own heart unexpectedly gave out and Richie passed away instantly on April 7, 2023, in Cohoes, New York.
Richie managed to fit a lot of laughs and a lot of love into his too-short life. One of his favorite pastimes was pranking his younger twin sisters-Marquelle and Amanda. It remains a mystery what inspired him to drag Marquelle's mattress into the backyard one night. An even greater mystery is why Richie would often blast the car heat in the middle of summer. No matter how frustrated his mother, Lisa, might get with her son, Rich somehow managed to redirect things and before she knew it, Richie had his mother in stitches. Lisa still is not entirely sure why, but after getting his driver's license and then a car in high school, Richie insisted his sisters ride in the backseat as they drove to school together.
Richie loved sports. He loved playing sports and watching sports, and he brought his positive spirit to these things always. A 2011 graduate of Greece Arcadia, Richie played Section V lacrosse, football, and basketball. He went on to SUNY Morrisville, where he "majored" in lacrosse and even earned a degree in Business. He proudly wore #35. He loved being surrounded by family, playing games, snacking on Carbone's pizza, and laughing together while the game played in the background. He was especially glad when his cherished Jacksonville Jaguars football and Duke University basketball teams were on tv, and his family still treasured him despite these preferences.
Most of all, Richie loved being a father to his two sons, toddler Weston Dean and baby Cooper Hayes Fischer. His devotion to his boys was complete, and his love for them transcends life itself.
Richie is survived by his mother, Lisa Fischer; father, Mark Fischer; sisters Amanda (Blake) and Marquelle Fischer; his beloved boys, Weston and Cooper, and their loving mother, Abby Fraser; grandparents Connie and Johnny Alfano; Aunt Terry "TT" (Steve) Kosciol; cousins Luke and Josh Kosciol; Uncle Glenn (Leslie) Fischer; cousins Drew, Cadi, and Ben Fischer; and Uncle Bernard "Bud" Fischer. Richie will also be greatly missed by many more aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
Richie was predeceased by his grandparents, Marie and Poppy Fischer, and Richard "Toby" Lanz.
Richie was easy to love. His laid-back nature made everyone feel welcome in his presence. In Rich's warm spirit, the family invites joining them in celebrating his life on Friday, April 14, from 2-6 pm, with dedicated memory sharing at 5:30, at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY 14626.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed toward a future trust for his sons, Weston and Cooper Fischer. Please make checks payable to Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY 14626, and include "Richie Fischer" in the memo line.

"Very saddened to hear the news of Richie?s passing. I will miss him along with his community of basketball junkies that he has been playing b-ball with over the past six years. Richie loved playing basketball in a t-shirt that said ?Krispy Kream?, so he developed the nick name Krispy Kream on the basketball court, which he loved. He will be deeply missed and we pray that God comforts the family and especially his boys??.. Tim Massey "
