Kathy D. Dencklau, 67, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, March 30, 2023 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Colfax Township Cemetery outside of Vincent. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kathy is survived by her mother Mary Wooten of Fort Dodge, children Timothy (Amanda) Briggs of Bernardo, NM, Jeffery (Sonya) Briggs of Hickory, NC, Jessica (Hadley) Libbey of Iowa City, IA and Abigail (Benjamin) Platt of Glidden, IA, grandchildren Anissa Briggs, Aria and Avery Libbey, Olivia, Jaxsyn, Wyatt, Alayna, and Grant Platt, sister Jennifer Cacioppo of Oviedo, FL and brother Dale Wooten of Covington, KY.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Wooten and husband Howard Dencklau in 2018.

Kathy Doree Wooten was born January 12, 1956 in Wheatland, WY. At the age of 2 she moved with her family to Fort Dodge. She attended area schools and graduated in 1974 from Fort Dodge Senior High School. In 1976, she was united in marriage to Troy Briggs and to this union Timothy and Jeffery were born. The couple later divorced. On July 30, 1988 she was united in marriage to Howard Dencklau in Vincent and to this union Jessica and Abigail were born. Kathy worked as an Administrative Assistant at Fort Dodge Senior High for almost 40 years before retiring in 2016. She enjoyed gambling, attending antique auctions, tractor sales and traveling with her husband Howard especially to St. Maarten. She was a social butterfly and an avid fan of the Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and attended Moose Conventions when she was able.

Memorials may be left to family discretion.
