I will never forget when he was told as a young man to ask, when he wanted a soda, as he was drinking too many. We, caught him running upstairs with a towel and a hidden soda, in the towel. Dustin Lee Wood, of Peoria, AZ made his journey to heaven on March 17, 2023 at the age of 34. He was born to Dawn Marie Wood and James Bradley Lewis on February 13, 1989 in Des Moines, Iowa. In life Dustin had an acute ability to bring people of all backgrounds together. His sense of humor and quick wit, paired with his desire to lend a helping hand, never went unnoticed. When Dustin showed up we never knew what to expect of the evening. He let his personality shine through unashamedly and brought fun and laughter everywhere he went.
On December 13, 2016 he married the love of his life, Trisha Bratt. Soon after they welcomed their children Bradley Mae and Evan Thomas into the world. His wife and children were the most important part of his life and his love for them was always evident.
Dustin was a talented musician; he was usually found with a guitar in his hands and a song on his voice. He enjoyed boating, hiking, exploring, fishing, and traveling but most of all he loved building his muscles (ha!). He embodied the freedom to live in the moment. His smile was contagious and brightened the life of every person he encountered. Moreso, he inspired those around him to embrace each day and live their life to the fullest. Full of love, experience, adventure but most importantly, family. He was known to have a very kind and protective heart toward his family and those around him, including strangers he'd just met. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him. We will see him manifest through Bradley and Evan as they grow and mature into the perfect version of how he lived.
Dustin prided himself on his work in the electrical field starting through an apprenticeship and quickly advancing to a Testing Department Manager. He had many accomplishments in the field and was jokingly referred to as "tech support" for being the go-to man for subject matter expertise.
Dustin is survived by his mother Dawn Wood; wife Trisha Wood; daughter Bradley Mae Wood, son Evan Thomas Wood; brother Aaron James Wood; Grandmother Donna Wood. Preceded in death by grandfather Thomas Wood, and father James Lewis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm on Tuesday April 4th 2023 at CCV, 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd. Peoria, AZ 85383.
