Herman Leander Baring, Jr. age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Herman known to many as "Butch" or "Shy" was born October 14, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska to Herman Baring Sr. and Deloris (Ewing) Baring. He graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa, where he shared his
athletic abilities in Basketball, Football, Track, and Swimming. His hobbies were skating, bowling, enjoying live music, and let's not forget his love for cars and clothes.

His latest favorite pastime was sitting in his favorite chair watching sports and movies in front of his big TV. His charm coupled with his gift to gab and the art of persuasion made way for a successful career in sales. Herman was a longtime proud member of Salem Baptist Church.

Herman is survived by his step-brothers, Gilbert (Jane) Davis and George Davis; children, Ric Baring, Shelly Chambers, Jeffrey Baring, Sonyia Baring Graham, Lydia Merrett, Odessa Carr, Marlene Baring, Natasha Baring, Deion Baring; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nephew Gary Baring II, and cousins; and a special friend Ms. Consetta Turley. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Baring, Sr. and Deloris (Ewing) Davis; brother, Gary Baring; son Julius Carter.
