In loving memory of

John Paul Schoenauer
February 19, 1951 - March 10, 2023

After 72 wonderful years on this earth, John Paul Schoenauer has made his transitional journey beyond on March 10, 2023 in Phoenix, AZ. Originally from Plummer, MN, John was born February 19, 1951 to Deane Schoenauer and Marjorie McKenna, and was brother to his beloved sister Kris. John is survived by his only daughter, Aime Liano Johanneson. His family moved to Phoenix, Arizona during his youth where he grew up attending Maryvale High School and Northern Arizona University. John obtained a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations with an extended Major in Journalism - and for those who knew him well, they know he loved to write! He was awarded the Dean's List and made National Honor Society, and was a member of Sigma Pi National Fraternity. John was a lover of all genres of music and thoroughly enjoyed multiple traveling adventures fishing with his best friend, and was an avid sports enthusiast. He engaged in multiple sports, however, his primary interest (love) was basketball where he played in both High School and College, All-Division Guard. John also established a long term residence in Colorado for many years where he evolved multiple businesses and long lasting friendships. John held many titles in his life, from entrepreneur to real estate deviser to hotel developer, but his favorite roles were being a Father, Uncle to his niece Katie, Dog-dad to McKenna and Tomasina, and a fiercely loyal Friend to those he held close to him. We will be sharing in a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for John at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix AZ 85020, on Saturday, April 15, 2023 beginning at 12:00pm until 2:00pm. If you would like to send flowers, they may be sent to Hansen Mortuary where they will proudly be displayed in honor of John during the celebration of life ceremony, or, in lieu of flowers donations would be welcomed at Halo Animal Rescue or AZ Humane Society. Although John has left us far too soon, his incredible, commendable heart will live on within us all.
