"I was lucky enough to work with Cam and he always made my day. He was one of the reasons I looked forward to going to work while he was with us. He was one of my favorite kiddos and made a lasting impression on my heart. I still think about him all the time, even though it's been about 2 years since I worked with him. His infectious smile and warm, caring hugs will forever remain in my heart and he helped me grow into the person I am, without even realizing what he was doing. I carry a drawing from him in my wallet to this day and I will cherish it and his memory."

"I am so very sorry for your loss and I am so sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I was blessed to have Cam in my 7th grade classroom (Des Moines Public Schools). He was so smart and inquisitive; asking the "why" questions-always wanting to learn more; especially in science. Cam was one of a kind; the student that brought many smiles to our classroom with his sense of humor. He was also thoughtful; when we were out for Covid, I wrote to each student, and Cam wrote a very nice letter back to me. "

I'm sending my deepest sympathies to his family, the Mills County 4H program, and his friends. Gina Battey"
