Arthur Andrew Conners
July 25, 1947 - March 8, 2023

Arthur Andrew Conners Jr., age 75, of Quincy, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 2:32 am in his home surrounded by his family.

Art was born July 25, 1947 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Arthur Andrew and Laura H. Applegate Conners, Sr.. He married Thelma Unglesbee on September 9, 1966 in Quincy, Illinois

He served during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. After his discharge, Art worked as a GS Civilian for the United States Navy. Art owned and operated numerous Taxi Cab companies in Quincy.

Art was an avid pool player and played in numerous leagues around the area. He was a Past Master in the Masonic Lodge.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and Vietnam Veteran.

In addition to his wife, Thelma Conners, Art is survived by his two sons, Arthur (Angel) Conners, III of Pensacola, FL, and Kevin (Kelley) Conners of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, Victoria (Skyler) Vipond, Eric Conners, Joseph Boyd-Conners, Hope and Kaden Conners, and Kevin and Greyden Miller; four great-grandchildren, Avalynne Bonilla, Maverick Bonilla, Dakota Vipond, and Addison Vipond; and a brother, Marc (Brenda) Conners of Quincy.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Priscilla Lynn Conners, and two brothers, Eric and Carl Conners.

Services: 6:00 pm Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Pastor Sharon Davis officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army Honors Detail and the American Legion Post 37.

Visitation: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

"I remember Artie from High School. Always friendly and upbeat. Lost contact with him after that. Ran in to him once at the eye clinic next to Browns drug store on Main Street. He remembered me and right off. I hope I left as good of impression on him as he did to me. I wish to express my sympathy to the family of Mr. Conners."
