In loving memory of

Ethan P. Zavitz (Burroughs)
November 13, 2002 - March 4, 2023

Ethan Paul Zavitz (Burroughs) was born November 13, 2002 in Denison, Iowa, the son of Nakia (Riley) Zavitz and Paul Burroughs. He attended Boyer Valley Community Schools until the 10th grade when he became homeschooled. During high school, Ethan played football and baseball.

Over the last 6 years, Ethan was employed at Smithfield, Boyer Valley Company, Johnson Propane, and most recently, UPS in Denison. He was a member of the Schleswig Fire Department for a brief time. He was a very hard worker, mom's wild child, and never knew how to whisper.

Ethan loved watching T.V. with his son, Benson and treasured the time he had with him. He enjoyed deer hunting, noisy noisy trucks, playing Xbox with his brothers, listening to a variety of music, especially old country like his dad, Brian, and hanging out with his many friends.

Ethan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Schleswig, Iowa, at the age of 20 years. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa's, Brad Slater and Kenneth Minor; paternal grandma, Jane Burroughs; maternal great-grandparents, Mabel and James Riley; and paternal great-grandparents, Paul and Helen Hartwig.

Left to cherish his memories are his mom and dad, Nakia and Brian Zavitz of Schleswig; father, Paul F. Burroughs of Osborne, Kansas; son, Benson Ryker Zavitz; siblings: Austin Burroughs, Aidan Burroughs, Evan Zavitz, and Vittoria Ashley Zavitz all of Schleswig; special sister, Olivia Jones of Glenpool, Oklahoma; little brother, Paul Burroughs of Osborne, Kansas; maternal grandma, Ann Slater of Denison; paternal grandparents, Dean Thomsen of Denison, Cheryl Thomsen of Carter Lake, and Dan Burroughs of Ute; many other special foster siblings, relatives and several friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Memorials may be directed to the family.
