In loving memory of

Constance A. Kelly

With deep sorrow we announce that Constance A. Kelly passed away peacefully on February 8, 2023, after a brief illness. She made her final medical decisions with family by her side and conveyed that she "felt Jesus reaching out to her".

Constance was born in Weirton, West Virginia, the only daughter of John and Mary Lewandowski. She was always intellectually curious, starting kindergarten early, graduating high school at 16 years old and attending nursing school right afterwards. Funnily, she was such a bright student that she was not old enough to take the nursing exam when she finished school. She worked as nurse in the dispensary at Weirton Steel after passing the exam. Many will remember Constance for having a sharp mind with the ability to recall minute facts from her life and intricate details of long-forgotten matters while also being able to tell jokes and talk politics. She had a strong faith and was a reader at her Catholic church for many years.

Constance spent most of her life in Weirton. She moved to Arizona after her husband, Martin Sr, fell in love with the area. Throughout her life she continued to be a proud Polish woman, serving traditional dishes and teaching her grandsons about her Polish heritage. Constance was able to travel the world with friends and family, enjoying all she learned about other cultures. In her later years, her passion turned toward her three grandsons, spending as much time with them as she could and showing them the eternal love of a Grandmother. Many great memories were created through all the adventures they had together.

Connie was a regular volunteer at the Society of St Vincent de Paul - Sunnyslope Dining Room, providing meals and service to the homeless. She assisted there just days before her passing. She had a love for animals throughout her life whether it was the cat at her parent's store, her collies Prince and Princess, and then her grandsons' dog, Arty. Her generosity to those less fortunate and her love for animals never dwindled.

She is survived by her loving family, daughter-in-law Barbara (Abele) Kelly, and grandsons, Tristan, William, and Archer Kelly along with numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, her only sibling, Raymond Lewandowski, as well as her husband Martin J. Kelly, Sr. and only child, Martin J. Kelly, Jr.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church on Del Webb Blvd in Sun City, Arizona on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 10:00 AM. A post-funeral gathering will follow from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the lobby of The Heritage, located at 17404 N 99th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Her ashes will be interred alongside her husband and parents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Constance's name to St Vincent de Paul. https://www.stvincentdepaul.net/give/donate.
