Larry Davis, 81, of Glenwood, IA passed away at his home on Friday, January 27, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial with military honors will be held at the West Liberty Cemetery. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Larry and his family.

Larry Dean Davis passed away in his home on January 27, 2023. He was 81 years old and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016. He was born at McPaul, Iowa (near Bartlett), on April 17, 1941.
Larry was one of four children born to Ora Ann (Lundy) and Leo Davis. He had two older sisters, Helen Davis of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Ruth Blackman (deceased) and brother Bill Davis and wife Mary A. of Glenwood, Iowa. He met and married Kay Patterson and had four children; Tricia Phillips and husband Chris of Kansas, Kirk Davis (deceased), Kelly and wife Darla Davis of Iowa, Laura and Jamie Van Zomeren of Utah; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He attended the Tabor school district and graduate from Tabor High School. Larry joined the Navy after graduation, he served four years and received an honorable discharge while in California. Larry worked for the California School District, Swift and Company, Ameristar Casino and Park Place. He made many friends during his employment. He enjoyed spending time at the local coffee shop talking to old friends, as well as camping with his family. Larry loved watching his western movies, reading western books, the Bible and spending time in church.
Larry married Mary K. (Dempsey) of Glenwood, Iowa in 2000 and he became stepfather to Rick Thomas, Lyn Wilson, Steve Thomas, Cheryl Evans, Sandy Wyszenski, Eldon Thomas, Teresa Blum and Aaron Dempsey. He was known as Grandpa to 49 step grandchildren.

"Thank You John Barber for posting this piciture of Larry in his navy uniform. I think his three kids will be very glad to see it too. He was blessed with four kids. One has deceased. Three are living. I am Helen, Larry's sister. All (4) of his children are GREAT ONES!!!"
