"Brian was one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I miss him. He was one of the rarest things there are to encounter in life - a truly good person. And a great trivia teammate."

"Brian was the most intellectually curious and intellectually engaging person I have ever met. A true renaissance man and polymath. It was an honor and privilege to have him as a friend. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched with his grace and kindness. My deepest sympathies to his family."

Lisa Wharton wrote on Jan 27, 2023:

"Brian was such a nice, happy man and a very good cook. I only met him three times in my life. But I did see him twice last year. He left such an impression on me with his smile and genuine interests Chinese cooking. I came from Beijing, China about 38 years ago. I was surprised how much he knew about Chinese cooking. I really enjoyed him company. I?m really saddened about his passing away. Next time I come to Omaha for Berkshire Hathaway meeting, I?ll miss his company. Deepest condolences to my dear friend Sandy and family."
