Veronica M. (Dorsey) Platt

Passed peacefully at age 96. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles; sister, Shirley; brother, Joseph. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Al) Williams, Karen (Dan) Clark, & Mark (Lynn) Platt; grandchildren, Lindsey Clark, Lauren Clark, Cameron Platt, & Hunter Platt; brother-in-law, Ossie; sisters-in-law, Barbara & Donna; many nieces & nephews; cousin, Jean; and dear friend Dianne.

Veronica's life will be celebrated during calling hours at the funeral home on Friday, January 27, from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Sussman Palliative Care Unit at Stong Memorial Hospital at https://tinyurl.com/ypka8wdy or 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642.

Veronica was born and raised in Rochester, NY. She met the love of her life, Bill, while roller skating. Veronica worked as a biller at Sibley's, then was a stay-at-home mom to her 3 children. She later loved spending time with her 4 grandchildren.

Veronica was known to friends as "Ronnie" and her family as "Honey". She enjoyed walking on the pier in Charlotte and going to Schaller's with friends. She loved her "goodies" - especially hot fudge sundaes from Abbott's and Nachos Bell Grande from Taco Bell.

Veronica loved to shop, even though she returned almost everything she bought. She kept her mind sharp reading books and the newspaper and was a news buff, watching CNN regularly. She loved scratch-off lottery tickets, which she always seemed to win on.

Veronica was a high-tech lady at 96 with her iPhone, Kindle, and Facebook. She had to go out driving every day in her jeans and Sketchers.

Veronica always greeted you with a hug and loved her family dearly. She ended every phone call with, "bye for now!"

The Platt family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the BTICU and Sussman Palliative Care Unit at Strong for their compassionate care.
