In loving memory of

Charlotte Mae Messina
July 24, 1944 - January 18, 2023

Charlotte Messina, 78, loving wife, mom, sister and grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 18, 2023 in Phoenix AZ. Charlotte was born in Jamestown, NY on July 24, 1944. She is survived by her husband and soul mate Sam Messina, Daughters Ann Taylor (Jeff), Deborah Barrett (Mike), son Daryle Messina (Pam), grandchildren Josh, Ryan, Brooke, Ashley, Zach and Austin and sister Patricia Bollow (Tom).

Charlotte loved her family dearly and was a dedicated and loving wife, evidenced by her 57 years of marriage to the love of her life, Sam.

Charlotte's greatest joys came from spending quality time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to dinner with friends and getting together afterward to visit, play cards and have dessert.

Charlotte was an incredible cook and baker. She especially enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren each holiday.

She enjoyed watching basketball and baseball on TV, and was recently becoming a football fan as well.

Her Catholic faith was important to her and she was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Sun City. Charlotte was a true patriot who loved this country and never stopped praying for it for the sake of her grandchildren's future. Charlotte was tiny but mighty, especially when it came to fighting her cancer. She was a special lady, and will be missed very much by all her family and friends.

Charlotte's family is very grateful for all of the support, well wishes, and prayers her friends offered throughout Charlotte's illness. The staff at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix were very helpful, kind, and loving to Charlotte and her family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice of the Valley on behalf of Charlotte at https://www.hov.org/donate/

"I was so sorry to hear of Charlettes passing. What a beautiful women inside and out. It was my pleasure to take care of her hair needs. The joke between us was that she resembled Nancy Regan but more beautiful! Sam thank you for sharing her with me. My deepest sympathy and prayers to you and your family. ??"

"Sam, Ann, Debbie, Daryle and your extended families. I?m so sorry for your loss. Charlotte was a beautiful lady inside and out. I have many fond memories of you two and of your family; when you lived in Jamestown, playing cards (Spades - Charlotte and I rarely won), Sam?s delicious pizza, the whiskey sours, and of course your friendship and lots of laughter. You are in my prayers. Love, and God bless. Roxie "

"Our Heartfelt Sympathy for the loss of your Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend. For the past 40 yrs. we looked forward to our times together with Charlotte, and Sam! We had meaningful conversations, belly laughs, Vegas trips, and mindless card games...always having the best of times! There will surely be an emptiness in our hearts without our sweet Charlotte."
