Randy L. Huddleston
July 19, 1965 - January 18, 2023

Randy Huddleston , age 57, Quincy, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 4:15 am in Blessing Hospital.

Randy was born July 19, 1965 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Marilyn Pruett Huddleston.

Randy grew up on a farm in Missouri and graduated from North Shelby High School in Shelbyville, MO. Randy was injured in a swimming accident shortly before his 21st birthday which left him a quadriplegic. Many of us would have folded that hand and given up; not Randy. His mind remained sharp and he had a memory like no other. He never complained. Randy loved sports. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and the Mizzou Tigers. He was a jokester and had a great sense of humor.

Randy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He truly believed that it was God that held his head above the water on that terrible day

"Randy was a special soul. He was an uncle of sorts and I've known him all my life. He was always positive and up beat. He never let his disability get the best of him. He is truly a one of a kind person. He would tease me as a kid by making me believe his trac scar was a bellybutton, at 5 years old I did beleive him! He even made me believe he could unscrewed my head and take out my batteries like many of my toys. I will miss playing the NES with him and our long talks about everything and nothing. You maybe lost to this physical world and free of your body but a part of your soul will always be in my heart. I will NEVER forget you! Love you so much Randy! "

"This is so hard for me, I haven't been able to stop crying since I heard of Randy's passing. Randy and I went through ICU, rehab and were neighbors for 3 yrs. I'm going to miss him so much. Going to miss our talks, and the silly Christmas cards he would send me every year. Prayers for Randy's mom, Marilyn, and family. R I.P. Randy, you will never be forgotten you are free to walk again with God. Love You My Friend, Always. Tina"
