Chong Cha "Shorty" Liles, 76, of Delmar, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, January 15, 2023, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.
A public graveside service and burial will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, January 20, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, Iowa. There is no public visitation. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Chong Cha Liles was born on November 8, 1946 in Japan to You Chong and So Chong (Yi) Kim. She was raised and educated in Korea. She married Donald Liles on October 23, 1971 in Camanche, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2006.
Upon her marriage to Donald, she became a housewife and an avid gardener. She was a spiritual person who often read the Bible, and she LOVED cats.
She is survived by several in-laws; special friends Patty and Amy; and "her dog" Khristian. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, and her husband Donald.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the Jackson County Humane Society.
