Erma L. Shelton, 93, passed away January 2, 2023. She was born September 6, 1929, in Washington to Jeff and Ruth (Dillon) Abbott.
Erma was retired from the Daviess Community Hospital where she worked in housekeeping for thirty-eight years
Erma was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She enjoyed attending their sporting events, crochet, sewing, watching her soap operas, and flowers. In her earlier years, she often went camping at Kentucky Lake with the family.
Erma is survived by her son, Richard Shelton of Washington; grandsons, Michael (Donna) Baumert and Bryan (Araina) Baumert all of Washington; and granddaughter, Lisa (Baumert) Plummer of Jacksonville, North Carolina. She leaves four great-grandchildren: twins, Connor and Noah Plummer of North Carolina; Brooke Baumert of Washington; Derek (Emma) Singleton of Washington; great-great-granddaughter, Annie Singleton of Washington; and son-in-law, Bill (Camilla) Baumert of Washington.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Ruth Abbott; daughter, Camilla Baumert; and siblings, Betty Abel; Ora Purdue; and Norman Abbott.
Visitation for Erma L. Shelton will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.
Funeral services for Erma L. Shelton will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington. Pastor Terry Fletcher will officiate. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
