Patricia Conrad, 86 of Glenwood, IA, passed away January 5, 2023 at the George C. Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood with Pastor Kimberly Bowles officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Patricia and her family.

Patricia (Runyan) Conrad, 86 of Glenwood, IA, passed away January 5, 2023 at George C. Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, IA.
Patricia, the middle child of five children of Harold Keith and Susie Pearl (Parmley) Runyan, was born on February 3, 1936 in Gravette, Arkansas. Her childhood was spent a farms in Oklahoma and Iowa. She attended a one room school in Iowa, high school at Maryville High, and graduated with a BS in Education from Northwest Missouri State College. Patricia worked at the Glenwood Public Library for 28 years.
Patricia married Walter Dean Conrad in 1956. Two children were born to this union, Walter Ray and Michele Lynn. The family moved to Glenwood in 1961 where Walter taught science for the Glenwood Community School District.
Patricia was a member of the Methodist church and UMW and enjoyed being in the bell choir for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting and knitting.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Walter in 2004; sister Etta Runyan; and brothers, James and Harold Runyan.
Patricia is survived by her son Walter Conrad and wife Jacquelyn of Humble, TX; daughter Michele Bolander and husband David of Sidney, IA; five granddaughters; two grandsons; 10 great grandchildren; sister Beatrice Ross of Excelsior Springs, MO; two sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

"My siblings and I have such great childhood memories of Mrs. Conrad and our time spent at the Glenwood Public Library.
We were regular visitors of the library and always participated in the summer reading program. She was always kind to us and very patient. I know she enriched the lives of so many children. "

"My SYMPATHIES to everyone in PAT'S FAMILIES.Always told MAMA PAT she is a MAMA life no OTHER was then I got that look between SCOLDING/SMIRK.Then told,"WHAT'S I going 2 do with You?Then she hug me,& say I LOVE;Still CAN'T straighten U out since you were little.guess it TOO LATE now,RIGHT?"
