In loving memory of

Shirley Fabiszak Peterson
October 23, 1934 - December 12, 2022

On Monday, December 12, 2022, Shirley Fabiszak Peterson, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of eighty-eight. Born to Phillip and Ramona Fester, Shirley loved spending time with her large family (1 of 7 children).

She grew up in Bucktown and lived in Chicago until she moved to Arlington Heights, IL in 1973 and then moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1998. Catholic faith was important, she was a parishioner of St. Joseph's in Phoenix, AZ. She was a Eucharistic minister for the church that also traveled and gave communion to home bound parishioners as well as the women's prison. She enjoyed being part of the Red Hat's and TOPS in her free time. Shirley was a huge Elvis fan, she loved to listen to his music and watch his movies. Her home was always open for many family members that came to live for a while. She would help anyone she could.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband's James Peterson and Robert Fabiszak, and granddaughter Sheryl Kuzmiak.

Shirley is survived by her children; Sharon Orton, Robert Fabiszak and Carol [Jerry] Peterson; grandchildren Sabrina [Scott] La Van, Kristen and Barbara Peterson and Zoee Fabiszak; great grandchildren Matt, Sara, Stephanie, Selena, Ashley, AJ and Chris; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother Phillip [Karen] Fester; and many nieces, nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on January 7th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 1101 North 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ

A second Funeral Mass will be held on January 28th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Marcelline Catholic Parish, 822 Springinsguth Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193. Luncheon to follow (information will be provided at the mass)

Shirley's ashes will rest with her husband Robert Fabiszak at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
