Doris Hogue Dobyns
September 2, 1931 - November 29, 2022

Doris Hogue Dobyns, 91, passed away on November 29, 2022 at her home in Phoenix, AZ. She was the widow of Jerry Dobyns. They shared 39 years of marriage together.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, she was the daughter of Harry and Anna Englert. She spent her early life in the Cleveland Ohio area. She earned her commercial real estate license early in her career and later managed various properties in the Phoenix area.

Doris was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and later St. Paul's Catholic Church, both in Phoenix. She was an avid tennis player, and later she enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. Doris was devoted to her dogs with a special affection for her Bichon Frisé and Havanese. She will be remembered for her active and inquisitive personality and for her gregariousness. To her, there were no strangers, only friends.

She is survived by her sons Christopher (Jan) Dobyns, Joseph (Dianna) Dobyns, Stephen Dobyns and John (Carol) Dobyns, and daughter-in-law Cathy (William) Hogue, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition she was predeceased by her first husband William Hogue Sr. as well as by her sons William (Cathy) Hogue and Christopher Hogue. She is also predeceased by her siblings Mary T. Englert, Lucy A. (Charles) Balser, The Reverend Father William Englert and The Reverend Father Harry Englert.

A mass will be held on December 9, 2022 at 10am at St. Paul's Catholic Church at 330 W. Coral Gables Drive in Phoenix.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Disabled Veterans, St. Mary's Food Bank and The Humane Society.
