In loving memory of

Patricia M. (Deatz) Cronhardt Schuman
March 9, 1938 - November 16, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Marie (Deatz) Cronhardt Schuman on November 16, 2022, at the age of 84 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Pat was born March 9, 1938, in Hutchinson, KS to Carl and Isabel (Manning) Deatz. She was a 50-year resident of Hutchinson before moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 1990.  She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School ('56) and Hutchinson Community College ('58). Pat's pride and joy were her three daughters Kelly, Kim and Kristin and her four grandchildren. To say she was an incredible Mother and Gram is an understatement. She was the consummate supporter and fan of her family never missing life's big moments, sporting events, dance recitals or school programs. She enjoyed showering all of them with love and her signature cookies and poppy seed bread.  Pat had a long career in the medical field working for an optometrist and then in the radiology department at Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital before retiring. She met the love of her life and married Mort Schuman in 1998.  They wasted no time living life to its fullest. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends before his death in 2005. Pat never met a stranger and was beloved by family, friends, and co-workers alike. She was known for her kindness, always helping others and lending a friendly ear to those closest to her.

Pat is survived by Daughters: Kim (Cronhardt) Fricke and husband Jeff (Scottsdale, AZ), Kristin Cronhardt (Scottsdale, AZ).   Grandchildren: Kyle Fricke (Scottsdale, AZ), Brett Fricke (Arvada, CO), Taylor Fricke (San Diego, CA) and Matthew Donley (Scottsdale, AZ). Sister: Judy Williams (Topeka, KS).

She was preceded in death by Daughter: Kelly (Cronhardt) Thomas. Husband: Morton Schuman. Parents: Carl Deatz and Isabel (Manning) Deatz.

A celebration of life will be held on December 10th at 2:00 pm (MST) at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. If you would like to join the service via live stream, please click on this link to participate at the designated time above: https://vimeo.com/772804381
