William Thornton, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, November 4, 2022.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.

William is survived by his children, Wanda Thornton, Suzie Thornton both of Fort Dodge, and Willie (Michelle) Thornton of West Des Moines. Also survived by his grandchildren Brittany (Jake) Menn of Denver, CO, Sierra (Ben) Feltes, Trajen Thornton, and Sydnee Thornton all of West Des Moines, great-grandchildren Myles Menn and Tatum Feltes, nephew Everett Dial, great-niece Samantha Thornton, aunt Elizabeth Goldsmith, great-great niece Ty'necia, great-great nephew Ty'cion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sally Mae Thornton, brother Eddie Thornton, nephew Kenneth Thornton, and great-niece Cia Thornton.

William Thornton was born November 25, 1933 in West, Mississippi. When he first moved to Fort Dodge he worked for the Railroad and then later was employed with Cross Construction.

William was outgoing, even in his retirement. He was a mall walker, loved to play Dominoes, enjoyed watching sports, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Memorials may be left to family discretion.
