Doris A. Shriver

Doris A. Shriver, age 87, of Quincy, died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Bickford Cottage in Quincy.
Doris was born July 23, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Roger W. and Leota Clearine Daniels Loos. On November 23, 1957 she married Theodore W. Shriver in Bluff Hall Church. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2017.
She was a 1953 graduate of Payson-Seymour High School and received her training as an x-ray technician from Blessing Hospital in 1955. Mrs. Shriver was a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau and helped her husband in the day to day operations of their farm. Above all else, Doris was a devoted wife and mother. Her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life.
Doris is survived by: two sons: Kevin (Cynthia) Shriver of Edwardsville, IL; and Kent (Janet) Shriver of Quincy, IL; four grandchildren, Brett Shriver, Michael (Chelsie) Shriver, Nicki Shriver, and Kyle (Macy) Shriver; a step grandson, Blake Grice; a great granddaughter, Lilian Shriver; a brother, Ross (Sandra) Loos; a sister in law, Lynn Loos; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Ted, Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; a step grandson, Brandon Devlin; and a brother Dale Loos.
Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Services: 10:00 am Friday, November 4, 2022, in Ellington Church with Rev. Ron Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Ellington Home Cemetery.
