Glenn A. Bridgeman
September 23, 1933 - October 27, 2022

Our father and hero, Glenn A. Bridgeman, joined Jesus and his beloved Donna in heaven on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 5:41 am.

Glenn was born September 23, 1933 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Cecil and Edith Prante Bridgeman. He married Donna Sue Hipkins on March 4, 1956 in Quincy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2012.

Glenn was a graduate of Quincy High School. He was employed as a printer at the Quincy Herald Whig, and served as a custodian at Dewey School and St. James Lutheran School. After his retirement, Glenn worked part time at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home cleaning and taking care of the cars.

Glenn was a devoted member of St. James Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir, served as the Sunday school superintendent for many years, and served on the council and as an elder. In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Glenn is survived by his two sons, Craig (Wanda) Bridgeman of Charleston, SC, and Brent A. (Erin) Bridgeman of McDonough, GA; his daughter, Amy B. Ellison of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, Joshua and Gabriel Bridgeman of McDonough, GA, Avery Bridgeman of Charleston, SC, and Austin (Deja) Ellison of Quincy; two brothers, Wayne (June) Bridgeman and Paul Bridgeman both of Quincy; and a sister, Sandra Batista of Florida.

In addition to his beloved wife, Donna, Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Loren "Bud" Bridgeman, Floyd Bridgeman, and Everett Bridgeman, and a sister, Carlene Whitefield.

Visitation: 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Graveside Services: 2:15 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Greenmount Cemetery, with Rev. Ian Heinze officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post 37 and the United States Army funeral honors detail.

"My condolences to the family of Mr Bridgeman I had the pleasure of knowing him when I went to Dewey school where he worked as our Custodian He also worked as our cafeteria helper he would play games with us and the winner Would win some candy that he would bring us such a super Nice Gentlemen may he RIP "
