In loving memory of

Edward H. Blickhan
April 11, 1926 - October 25, 2022

Edward Henry Blickhan, age 96, of Ursa, IL was called home by the Good Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 3:55 a.m. in Blessing Hospital, Quincy IL.

Edward was born on April 11, 1926 in Quincy, IL, a son of Edward B. and Hilda (Grawe) Blickhan. He married the love of his life, Beatrice J. Hoffman, on July 25, 1964 in St. Mary Catholic Church (now Blessed Sacrament) in Quincy, IL. She survives.

He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon, IL, where he served on many committees over the years.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was fortunate to go on the Great River Honor Flight in 2012 thanks to his guardian on the flight, Rodney Keck, and the staff and doctors who gave their time for the men and women who served our country, so that they could enjoy their wonderful day.

He farmed in the Ursa, IL, and LaGrange / Canton, MO areas and worked part time at Cylindro Gas Company, Home Gas Company, and Riverside Gas Company.

He enjoyed attending his granddaughters' activities, family events, and relaxing at his cabin on the Mississippi River. He also enjoyed RV camping and trips to his favorite casinos. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

For over 20 years, Edward and his wife were Santa and Mrs. Claus to the enjoyment of many children and adults.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and loved being with his family. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by two sons: Daniel E. (Ricky Schild) Blickhan of Memphis, TN; and Dennis J. (Diane) Blickhan of Ursa, IL; two granddaughters: Taylor P. (Austin Friye) Blickhan and Tori N. Blickhan of Ursa. IL; four sisters-in-laws: Jean Blickhan of Quincy. IL; Barbara (Mike) Berry of Williamstown, MO; Betty (Ernie) Woods and Virginia (Larry) Householder of Quincy, IL; and wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald E. Blickhan; in-laws Harvey J. and Virginia M. Hoffman, and a brother-in-law, Bradley J. Hoffman.
