William "Joe" Joseph Bosley, 72, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, died Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, MI.
He was born November 23, 1949 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, a son of the late William H. and Delores M. (Boville) Bosley.
Joe served in the US Coast Guard for 29 years as an Aviation Electronic Technician and retired as a CWO4 in 2000. His duty stations included; Mobile, AL, Elizabeth City, NC, Miami, FL, Traverse City, MI, Washington, DC and Corpus Christie, TX. He returned to Sault Ste. Marie following retirement to care for his ailing father.
He was a member of the CPOA (Chief Petty Officer Association). He played and coached hockey and baseball.
Joe is survived by his children, Christopher (Jamie) Bosley of Peoria, IL, Aaron Bosley of Robertsdale, AL, Betty Heaton of Bay Minette, AL and Cheryl (John) Hughes of Loxley, AL; 6 grandchildren, Aidan, Carter, Delainey and Airyanna Bosley, Jae and Payton Heaton; former spouse, Lois Zuber of Loxley, AL; and a community of friends in Sault Ste. Marie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Bosley.
Honoring Joe's request, no local services will be held. Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery.
