"Recuerdo a Doña Alma amable, madre abnegada, hospitalaria, siempre dispuesta a compartir de lo qué tenía con otros, la conocí en 1986 cuándo en una de muchas ocasiones llegó al lugar donde Elvia trabajaba, en ese tiempo su único nieto era Eric puedo decir qué fue una gran abuela, amaba tanto a sus nietos qué cuándo los mencionaba en su sonrisa y el brillo de sus ojos se le reflejaba el amor y lo feliz que se sentía de tener nietos, pude escucharla decirles a Eric (mijo) y a David (mijo) con mucha ternura y amor. Doña Alma fue una buena suegra y disfrutó del buen humor y atenciones de su yerno Armando. No pude despedirme personalmente, sólo pude enviarle un mensaje y un beso. Con fe en las promesas de Jehová, comparto Hechos 24:15 ?Y tengo esperanza en Dios, esperanza que también tienen estos hombres, de que va a haber una resurrección tanto de justos como de injustos.? Tengo la esperanza en la Resurrección qué la volveré a ver y podremos disfrutar ya libre de enfermedades , una vida mejor. Siempre recordaré a Doña Alma con su hermosa sonrisa. Patricia López "

April 25, 1944 - October 18, 2022
Alma Angelina Luna passed away on October 18, 2022, in San Jose, CA. Alma was born on April 25, 1944, in Mexicali Baja California, Mexico to Julio and Maria Luna.
She came to the United States in 1971 and settled in San Jose where as a single mother raised her four children working as a caregiver as well as a seasonal production employee. Alma then transitioned into electronics field where she worked until her retirement.
She enjoyed attending graduations and recreational activities of her grandchildren. She always remembered everyone's birthday and would be the first to call.
Alma loved listening to Mexican music and was an avid collector of hundreds of CD's. Much of her free time was spent on her beloved word search books.
Also, she enjoyed her daily phone calls with her cousin LETICIA SOTO, good food watching her novellas, spending time with her loved ones and making the best TAMALES! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Julio C. Carrillo and Maria P. Luna, and brother Joe Cortez.
She is survived by her 4children: Elvia (Armando) Cruz, Mario Luna, Guadalupe Luna and Carla (Iram) Escobedo 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers Jose Cortez and Julio (Esther) Castro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Los Banos at 5pm followed by the rosary at 7pm. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 am at St. Joseph's Church on Monday, October 24, 2022. Burial at the Los Banos Cemetery District in Los Banos, CA.
