Betty Jeane McNutt
May 9, 1925 - October 2, 2022

Betty Jeane McNutt, age 97, of Quincy, died on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 2:20 am in Blessing Hospital.

Betty was born May 9, 1925, in Plainville, Illinois, the daughter of William O. and Gertrude Fusselman Crim. She married Carl H. Althoff on February 18, 1945 in Plainville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1960. She married Virgil G. McNutt on August 9, 1963 in Plainville. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1982.

Betty was a 1944 graduate of Seymour High School in Payson, Illinois. She graduated from the Quincy School of Practical Nursing in August of 1963. She was employed as a LPN at St. Mary's Hospital, hospitals in Arizona and Bakersfield, California, and Tri-City Hospital in Oceanside, California, before returning to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. She retired in January of 1991 from the Illinois Veterans Home, after 20 years of service. Betty had been a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two children, Carl Gene (Joyce) Althoff of Plainville, IL, and Georgetta "GiGi" McNutt Corbett of Quincy; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Chad) Clinging of Fowler, IL, Preston (Megan) Althoff of Plainville, Paige Nisbet of Charleston, IL, and Cooper (Mariah) Nisbet of Quincy; six great-grandchildren, Shelby Clinging, Brady and Erika Althoff, Zofia Borbash, Ivy Enlow, and Magnolia Nisbet; a brother, Keith Crim; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two great-grandchildren, Cassaundra and Chandler Clinging, four brothers, Merle Crim, Charles "Sam" Crim, Joe Crim, and Harold Crim, a sister, Rosalie Smith, and three sisters-in-law, Carlene and Esther Althoff and Alberta Crim.

Visitation: Noon to 2:00 pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Services: 2:00 pm on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Constance Jenkins officiating.

Burial: Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois
