Gerald Stady, 85 of Glenwood, IA, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Glen Haven Village in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Pastor Seth Kaiser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Gerald and his family.

OBITUARY
Gerald Dean Stady, 85 of Glenwood, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Glen Haven Village in Glenwood.

Gerald was born on August 18, 1937 in Grenora, North Dakota, the son of Athbert and Elna (Elaison) Stady. He graduated from Grenora High School and attended the University of North Dakota for two years. Gerald served in the United States Army from 1961-1963 during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Gerald worked as a carpenter until his retirement.

Gerald and Aleta Marie (Pierce) Levermann were united in marriage on August 25, 1973 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Gerald and Aleta were married 43 years when Aleta passed away on January 18, 2017.

Gerald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading westerns or mysteries. Gerald loved photography and taking photos with his camera.

In addition to his beloved wife Aleta, Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; and step son David Levermann.

Gerald is survived by his step son Robert Levermann of Omaha, NE, and step daughter-in-law Mary Levermann of Glenwood; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Jan Henricksen of Billings, MT; and other relatives and friends.
