In loving memory of

Brenda Joyce Marshall
September 24, 1950 - August 10, 2022

Brenda Joyce Marshall was born Sunday, September 24th 1950 at Old Saint Agnes hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She crossed into eternity on August 10th 2022 to be with her Savior. She was the daughter of Wilber Alonzo Brogunier and Charlotte Mae Hudlow. She grew up in Baltimore with three sisters: Anna, Ruth and Elizabeth. Brenda graduated from Crossland High School and Star Beauty Academy, both in Baltimore. The family moved to Forest Heights and enjoyed attending Forest Heights Church three days a week. Brenda was baptized by Billy Graham at the age of 8 years old at the Washington Congregational Baptist Church. As a child, Brenda enjoyed sewing, writing, and poetry.

Brenda met the love of her life, Douglas Grant Marshall, in Maryland. It wasn't easy for them as Doug enlisted in the Army (101st Airborne) and was shortly deployed to Vietnam. When Doug returned, they had Gabrielle, John, and Paul born in Maryland. With a yearning for the wild west and following Doug's military service, they moved to Colorado Springs. Once Doug was out of the service, they moved to Arizona in the mid-70s to complete their family with Sarah and Adrea. Brenda and her five children lost Douglas in 1985.

Brenda worked hard for the rest of her life, supporting, providing and raising all five of her children on her own. Brenda worked for the United States Karate Association for many years. Brenda owned, operated and worked 7 days a week at Marshall Janitorial in the valley for over two decades. Brenda earned her Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix and had a deep passion for the laws and justice for the innocent.

Brenda enjoyed spending all of her free time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brenda had a passion for Martial Arts, Shuri-Ryu and deep bond with O'Sensei Robert A. Trias. She was well-versed and a strong believer in homeopathic medicine through a dear family friend Dr. Robert Fifield. She is with them both now in heaven. She loved reading, sewing, deep conversations, mahjong, rune stones, geodes, chinese food, Arizona, the beach and mountains, Cat Stevens, pretzels and gum for the kids.

Brenda loved the Lord and learned early in her life to lean into the Lord for guidance, wisdom and help to get her through her most difficult times. She had a saying when things were stressful "God will provide, He will take care of us". Brenda will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Brenda was preceded in death by father: Wilbur Alonzo Brogunier Jr., mother: Charlotte Mae Hudlow, sister: Elizabeth Florence Heckox, and sister: Ruth Ellen Fischer.
