Lou Anne Thompson, 78, Henderson, IA, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Glen Haven Village in Glenwood, IA. A Celebration of Life gathering for both Lou Anne and Bill will be held at their farm "Thompson Corner" at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 near Henderson. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern, IA is caring for Lou Anne and her family. Lou Anne (Poland) Thompson, 78 of Henderson, IA, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at Glen Haven Village in Glenwood, IA.
Lou Anne was born on November 13, 1943 in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Jay and Hope Virginia (Rowley) Poland.
Lou Anne and William Duane Thompson were united in marriage on January 13, 1989. They made their home near Henderson, aptly named "Thompson Corner". She was the happiest when teaching heritage skills to children and adults. She was a "mom" to many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lou Anne was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband Bill just this year on February 12, 2022.
Lou Anne is survived by her children, Russell Porter and wife Lynne of Malvern, IA; Bonny Triplett and husband Mark of Glenwood, Jennifer Walters and husband Andrew of Omaha, NE, Mikaila Wise of Ft. Dodge, IA, Michael (Susie) Thompson of Fremont, NE, Tammy Bendig of Fremont, NE, Brad (Kari) Thompson of Fremont, NE, Matt (Shelby) Thompson of Bennington, NE; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Robert Poland of Omaha; sister Barbara McCormick; other relatives and a host of friends.
