In loving memory of

Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Haiar-Gilbert

Kathy grew up in the St. Cecilia Cathedral area of Omaha, Nebraska. She was a proud alum of St. Cecilia Cathedral High School 1987. During elementary school, her classmates said that she was a welcoming friend to everyone. She was eager and kind. Her high school classmates described her as a sweetheart. She was smart and loved to laugh, the biggest sweetheart.
In 1993 Kathy graduated from Clarkson College with her Bachelor of Science Nursing BSN - Registered Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Research and Clinical Nursing. She was a dedicated nurse at Creighton Hospital for the majority of her career. Kathy valued all her patients and treated them with dignity and respect.
On January 3rd, 1997, James and Kathy were married. The ceremony was at Majel's house, James' mother, in Oklahoma. Their marriage had a solid foundation of respect and love. Kathy and James enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and just living life together. Every single day they chose each other.
Kathy was a stepmother to Danielle who lovingly called her ESM. Kathy's grandchildren Jayce and Freya were the light of her life. Grandma Gi-Gi spent time jumping on the trampoline, watering her plants, and feeding them plenty. Jayce's favorite thing with Grandma Gi-Gi was his bedtime routine during his sleep overs. They would cuddle, read a book, and fall asleep together.
Kathy's never missed a chance to shop at Thrift World. She bragged about her thrifty finds each trip. Kathy loved making photo shows for special occasions. She was a self-taught iMovie designer. Kathy spent hours creating loving stories through music and photos.
Kathy made everyone she met feel valued, special, and cared for. She was a loving and empathic wife, mother, sister, and friend. One of her biggest assets was bringing people together. Kathy will be missed by her family and many, many friends.

" Kathy was a great teacher as well as a great friend. When I first started working with her, she let me know, the "Hell's Angels" were not a "gang". The Hell's Angel's are a motor cycle club, deserving of respect. This is how Kathy brought people together. She walked the walk, not only talked the talk."
