In loving memory of

Carole Lee Butt
March 7, 1939 - September 19, 2022

Carole was born March 7,1939, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughter of Carl and Erma Kennedy Weichman. She lived in Albuquerque until moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 1973. Carole graduated from Valley High School, and the University of New Mexico in 1961, with a BA in secondary education and an emphasis in history. At UNM, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. After college, she worked as a legal secretary, where she met her future husband, Paul Davis Butt, another Albuquerque native. In Albuquerque, Carole was active in community and served as a member of the Jr. League of Albuquerque, and later as a Sustaining member of the Jr. Leagues in Phoenix and San Diego, Ca. She enjoyed volunteering at her children's schools and neighborhood associations.

Carole had a passion for architecture and fashion. Working with architects, she designed and built two family homes, one in Albuquerque, and the other in Paradise Valley, AZ. Her interest in history led to a hobby in genealogy. She devoted over 10 years to researching all of their related families, dating back to immigration to America. Paul and Carole had two sons, Michael and Jason. She was an active "stay-at-home mom" supporting their interests in various sports and activities, as well as their educations. Carole was a devoted wife supporting Paul's career with brief transfers to Houston, TX and La Jolla, CA. Ultimately, they moved back to Scottsdale for retirement and the remainder of their 55 year marriage. Paul passed in March, 2018. Carole is survived by sons Michael (Alicia) and Jason, and granddaughters Jordan of New York City, and Cassidy of Boston, as well as one sister, Sharon Croker of Prescott Arizona.

"This darling picture which I posted shows Carole in her true, natural, happy light. I will always remember the many wonderful and fun memories that we had together. And what a blessing to have had our wonderful parents , and I know she would say the same. I know her special family - children and grandchildren- will miss her dearly too. God bless and keep you Carole and rest in peace. We love you. "
