John J. Sulka Jr.
Cuba - John J. Sulka Jr., 81, of Cuba, passed away at 9:15 am, Thursday, September 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 7, 1941 in Chicago to John J. and Michaelene (Panavas) Sulka Sr. John married Sandra Rusnak on August 18, 1962 in Chicago. She survives along with two daughters; Susan Marie (Tim) Knight of Bartonville, Jennifer Lynne (Brian) Morse of Peoria and four grandchildren; Bella, Sam, April Rose (David) and Skylar.
John was preceded in death by his parents, son James John Sulka and sister Carol Browne.
John was the owner/operator of the Wharf Harbor Sales and Marina in Peoria. He was a founding member of the IRBBA (Illinois River Basin Boating Association). He was a member of Delta Upsilon at Bradley University, Ivy club and enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping. He served on the village board of Bellevue. His true love was all his family.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a private service. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. To leave online condolences, please visit www.oakshinesfuneralhome.com.
