Canton - Mildred "Millie" J. Lapsley, 95, of Canton, formerly of Elmwood, passed away to her Heavenly home at 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Sunset Manor in Canton. Millie was born September 17, 1926, in Brimfield, to Thomas and Olive (Cluskey) McDonough. She married John "Jack" Lapsley on February 23, 1952, in Alcorn County Mississippi.
They had one son, Martin Lapsley, who with her husband, preceded her in death; along with seven siblings.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved and was loved by them.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Calvary Cemetery in rural Brimfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer Society, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elmwood.
