Robert George "Bob" Thaller, 94 of Malvern, IA passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at his home. No services will be held. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern is caring for Bob and his family.

Robert George "Bob" Thaller, 94 of Malvern, IA, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at his home.

Bob was born on February 15, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the oldest of three sons of Ralph Franklin and Georgia (Connlley) Thaller. Their mother died when he and his brothers were very young. Ralph married Verba (Fritz) Clark on October 31, 1936. They lived in Lincoln before moving to Malvern in the 1940s. Bob attended school in Strahan and in Malvern. In March 1946, he enlisted in the United States Marines. Bob drove bus for Greyhound for 30 years, retiring in 1989. Several Malvern Senior Class trips were on a Greyhound bus driven by Bob.

Bob and France Mae Robinson were united in marriage on September 9, 1949, daughter of Rita Mae (Williams) and Roy Robinson, at the Malvern United Methodist Church. They made their home in Malvern and were blessed with a daughter Roberta Jean.

Bob enjoyed having coffee at C & M's Café with the guys and listening to all their stories they told.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia and Ralph; stepmother Verba; beloved wife Frances in 2013; brothers, Lyle Keith Thaller, (MIA in Korea in 1952) and Ralph Earl Thaller and wife Marie; brothers-in-law, Kenneth "Bud" Robinson, Jack Robinson, Bernard "Gee" Robinson, and Vernon "Fib" Robinson.

Bob is survived by his daughter Roberta Vainiunas and husband Vyto of Omaha, NE; sisters-in-law, Joyce Robinson of Omaha, Judy Robinson of Sylmar, CA, Katheryn Robinson of Red Oak, IA, and Liz Robinson of Clarinda, IA; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

"Roberta so sorry for the loss of your Dad and it's never easy to lose a parent. I had heard stories about those class trips on the bus! Your folks were special and always kind to me. I am sorry I have lost contact with you. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. May your memories help bring more smiles in the days ahead. Linda (Fletcher) Greaves"
