In loving memory of

John Zeppetella
November 21, 1938 - August 26, 2022

GATES - August 26, 2022 at age 83. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Nancy (Siamo) Zeppetella, his sister, Rose Marie Zeppetella, and his beloved wife of 38 years, Joan Tannous Zeppetella. Survived by several cousins, Larry (Rosemary) Zeppetella, Anthony (Barbara) Zeppetella, Salvatore (Esther) Zeppetella, Joseph Zeppetella, Carmella Zeppetella, Jean (Jack) Rolston, Don (Angela) Russo, Richard (Sue) DelConte, Kay Gillespie, Judie Lynn Nassar and Tom McAvinney, Donald (Chong) Azer, Frances Harper, Harry Azer and several other cousins and friends.

John was a graduate of Sts. Peter and Paul School, Aquinas Institute, St. Andrew's and St. Bernard's Seminary, SUNY Brockport, and the University of Rochester, majoring in Linguistics including Latin, Italian and Spanish, as well as Global History, Special Education and Sociology.

John taught for the Rochester City School District over fifty years in several capacities as a full-time teacher, substitute teacher and even as a principal for two months at School of the Arts. He also taught night school adult education in Spanish for ten years.

John was a worker and also heir to the Siamo Custom Built & Repair Shoe Co. (1914-1988) in Rochester, New York. John's family was also a major partner to Don C. & Rose Russo, cousin, formerly the Sand, Gravel, & Ready Mix Concrete Co. in Pittsford and Mendon, New York (1943-1988) completing the New York State Thruway contract from the Buffalo east side border to the west of Syracuse, New York between the years 1954-1956.

The family was also Mason & Building Contractors - Siamo Builders (1922-1928) and again in 1942-1970. John also worked for the former New Exchange Lumber Co. during weekends for three years (1967-1970).

Family, relatives, and friends are invited to the Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rt. 390 North and Long Pond Road) on Friday, September 2nd from 2:00-7:00 PM. John's Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 4100 Lyell Rd., Gates, NY 14606. Following Mass, burial will be at All Saints Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 4100 Lyell Rd., Gates, NY 14606.
