Robert Brent Hartley
October 28, 1932 - August 21, 2022

Robert “Bob” Hartley entered the Heavenly Kingdom on August 21, 2022 at the age of 89. He passed peacefully at home in Yorba Linda, surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was born on October 28, 1932 in Santa Monica. He graduated from Washington High School in Los Angeles in 1950 and continued his education at the University of Southern California, earning a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Bob “Fought On,” when he enlisted in the Marines and served in the Korean War. Bob became an American Hero, was wounded in action, and received a Purple Heart. Bob eventually returned to Southern California to marry his love, Betty. Bob and Betty relocated to Bakersfield, where they found the Lord at the First Baptist Church Bakersfield, and dedicated their lives to serving Him. In 1969, Bob and Betty joined Campus Crusade for Christ, where he continued to serve until 2020. In the first four years of his missionary career, he completed the Great Commission School of Theology. Bob’s service to the Lord brought him all over the world, from college campuses to Eastern Europe until 1991. After the fall of the Iron Curtain, Bob's ministry relocated to Hungary. He then continued his ministry with the Jesus Film Project in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East until 2018. Bob loved to serve the Lord, his country, and his family. He is survived by Betty and many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom he loved very much.
