Kenneth E. Robertson, age 89, of Quincy, died on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:20 am in Good Samaritan Home.
Kenneth was born November 19, 1932 in Fowler, Illinois the son of James Robertson and Clara Shriver Robertson. He married Georgia Albsmeyer in 1956, and they had three children. On March 17, 1994 he married Barbara A. Roberts in Estes Park, CO. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2018.
Kenneth was a 1951 graduate of Quincy High School and attended Western Illinois University. He served in the US Army from 1953 until 1955, during which time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a Mechanical Engineer for Harris Corporation. Kenneth served as the President of Great River Parkinson's Support Group and was the Supervisor of Melrose Township for 12 years. He was an active Board member at Ellington Presbyterian Church, and in his spare time he enjoyed volunteering at Blessing Hospital. Kenneth enjoyed camping and working in his yard.
Survivors include two sons, Kent (Penny) Robertson of Dallas City, IL; and Steve (Laura Zanger) Robertson of Quincy; a son-in-law, Dan Dwyer of Groton, NY; three step-sons, Richard, Steven and Jeffrey Roberts; a step-daughter, Tina Waggener; five grandchildren, Tanner Robertson, Mattie (Michael) Haas, Caitlin (Matthew) Mechtly, Abby Dwyer, and Zachary (fiancée Megan) Dwyer; two great-grandchildren, Reed and Rosemary Haas; and a half sister, Bonnie (Daryl) Davis of Loveland, CO; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Debra Dwyer, and three brothers Keith (Marjorie) Robertson, Wilbur "Lee" (Lydia) Robertson, and Donald (Lorraine) Robertson.
Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Ellington Presbyterian Church.
Service: 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Ellington Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ron Cox officiating.
Burial: Ellington Home Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois with military honors conducted by the United States Army Honor Detail.
