"Kevin is my cousin, only 2 years older than I. We grew spending the summers together, hanging out after school. Like so many my cousins were my first best friends. So many memories I look back on. Poor Aunt Connie taking a water balloon Kevin helped me fill outside at the hose. Came in a funny package and we had to unroll it before we could fill it. That's right it wasn?t a water balloon at all, it was a condom. Haha. I remember my Aunt?s surprised face and her telling me she would ?keep it safe for me? as she carefully carried it to the sink. I remember riding a skateboard (sitting down on it) down the sidewalk out in front of the house on Pratt. I flew down the sidewalk out into the street and into the curb on the start of the next sidewalk. I must have been fine I only remember the ride. Or the time we were jumping on the chain link fence like it was a trampoline. Kevin jumped off and I wasn?t heavy enough to weight it down. I ended up with my first stiches that day. Kevin sat by my side the whole time holding my hand tending to me. I remember swimming in the pool for hours and hours. It was the best way to spend hot summer days. Everyone would be there. I remember at Uncle Kenny?s campground; Manny, Kevin and I were going to go to a gas station to get drinks or something. Kevin turning to me saying you will have to ride in the back next to my box. My naive self-asking what precious belongings he keeps in his box? Him and Manny both laughing explaining its his speaker box. I?m sorry our lives got busy the way they do. We had not seen each other in years. I have nothing but fond memories. And I am deeply saddened that is all that is left."
