In loving memory of

David Allan Dow
May 15, 1960 - August 10, 2022

David Allan Dow, 62, sailed peacefully into his next calling on August 10, 2022. With quiet humor, perseverance and grace, he lived his life to the fullest. He showed unshakeable determination by rebounding time after time from the ravages of his Parkinson's disease while bravely meeting the demands of therapy and treatment since 2011. He held those he loved most deeply in loyal abiding trust and respect, the most notable being Carmelina who gave him hope, love, unwavering care and courage.
The duo loved seeking adventure through their many travel pursuits including sailing themselves across the southern hemisphere on their sailboat for a year and later climbing many high mountains such as Mt. Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp.

Our dear husband, son, friend, brother and co-worker was born May 15, 1960. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, J. Carmelina Rivera. He is also survived by his brothers, Brian, Dale and John and predeceased by his parents, Robert James & Mary Elizabeth of WI and his dear, 4-legged companion, Maya.

Being a tinkerer and inventor at heart, David built computers, renovated their homes and nothing that was broken or malfunctioning escaped his detective-like investigation and solutions.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 3pm at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N.7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020. On Friday, August 19, services will being with the Rosary at 9:00am at St. Paul Roman Catholic Parish, 330 W. Coral Gables Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85023 followed by mass at 9:30 at the same location. After the burial, for those who wish, there is a medative healing garden on premises where people can have an experience that engages their 5 senses on a peaceful and beautiful walk through 5 stations. "Carmelina & family - what a beautiful rosary & mass service. The celebration of David?s life was wonderful - very meaningful - just like he was! We worked together for many years and I always appreciated his integrity, his ?can do? attitude and being part of the team, taking initiative and his ability to dive into an issue and figure it out. I was always humbled by the many faucets to David, his love for his wife, for adventure and doing new things - he truly loved his life to the fullest. May he be blessed in heaven for the pain and suffering he endured in this broken world, and may Carmelina be rewarded with Christ?s Peace for so faithfully holding David?s hand through this journey. Many blessings & love - Michelle Woker "

"I believe that a measure of a life well lived is how someone made you feel as your life paths cross and David crossed mine over 20 years ago?..first professionally and later, as friends. My earliest memories of meeting David professionally impressed on me how smart he was?..using his skills, gifts and talents with a quiet, focused confidence. Later, as we became friends, we were fortunate to live in the same neighborhood, and I got to see David more frequently . Over the years, David taught me many things as I saw in him things I?d like to master the way he did. David showed me over and over to focus on what really matters in life; people, nature and life experience. I would often pass David on my way to the mountain preserve and even after so many challenges, he?d flash me that great smile of his and tease me that he had already been where I was headed and that I would have to step it up to keep up! David was truly one of the best listeners I?ve ever met. I always left our conversations feeling fortunate to have a friend who listened with such focus. David?s greatest love was Carmelina. I loved to watch the way he?d smile at her?and as she reminded him of things to remember, he?d just smile and say, ?yes, dear??? Perhaps the greatest thing I learned from David is that all any of us have is this moment?.to take and make the most of it. I am blessed to have had him as my friend."

"So sorry to see this. Condolences to family and friends on David's passing. David and I were colleagues at Wolters Kluwer and later at Source Healthcare Analytics. While David and I did not always see eye-to-eye on IT, David defended his positions on principle and with fairness and with kindness. May our Lord receive him warmly. "

"Dear Carm and family of David, David was a true friend, a great listener, a very loving ?Uncle ? to our children. Megan and Devon. He listened to Devon?s metal music without question while fixing something at the same time. Our greatest memories are just spending time at their lovely, welcoming homes, talking, laughing and just being present with us always. His heart was so big and his mind was so brilliant that he took so much in stride and did not allow his illness to define his life. A life he lived beautifully with his ever caring, always researching, amazing wife seeking to heal and guide David. We pray his soul is at rest and look toward the day we meet again. We love you! Sean, Paula, Devon and Karma Ewy??"
