Cathryn M. Holloway
December 14, 1923 - August 4, 2022

Cathryn M. Holloway, 98, of Marion, passed away at 6:10 p.m., August 4, 2022, at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehab, Marion. She was born on December 14, 1923, to the late Hovey and Minnie (Shoemaker) Harrell. Cathryn graduated from Van Buren High School in 1942. She married Charles C. Holloway on October 31, 1943, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 30, 2014.

Cathryn operated a farm with her husband, and also had a career of employment at RCA in Marion, retiring in 1984. She attended Farrville Community Church, in Marion, throughout her lifetime. Cathryn served in many capacities, including being a deaconess and member of the Farrville Womens Fellowship. She lived a life of love for God and selfless service to others as exemplified by Matthew 22:30-31, and exhibited the fruits of the Spirit in everyday life - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22). Cathryn was also known as a wonderful cook, gardener, and seamstress/quilt maker. She loved and cared for her family well.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Needler of Marion; two sons, Larry (Gaylene) Holloway, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and David (Cindy) Holloway, of Upland, Indiana; two grandsons, Kevin (Julie) Needler, of Houston, Texas, and Kyle Holloway, of Bogota, Colombia, South America; three granddaughters, Julie (Jason Jones) Langdon, of San Antonio, Texas, Angie (Dave) Thiery, of Roanoke, Indiana, and Kara (Cody) Younce, of Van Buren, Indiana; six great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Cathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Delene Pence.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion.

Memorial contributions can be made in Cathryn's honor to Farrville Community Church, 11044 E. 200 N., Marion, Indiana 46952.
