William H. Vasen
Canton - William Vasen, 95, of Canton, passed away a 6:48 pm Saturday, July 30, 2022 at his residence. He was born on August 10, 1926 in Quincy to George and Willa (Howland) Vasen. Bill married Virginia Lundgren on August 14, 1955 in Princeton. She survives along with one son Gregory William Vasen of Champaign, two grandsons; Christopher Michael Vasen and Andrew Ryan Vasen.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Bill was a teacher, first working in Manlius High School from 1951-1954 and then Canton School District #66 from 1954 until retiring in 1988. He graduated from Quincy High School, Quincy College and earned his master's degree from Western Illinois University. He was an Army Veteran serving in WW2.
Services will be 2 pm August 5, 2022 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
