Alice Dooley
March 4, 1935 - August 1, 2022

Alice Dooley, 87, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church. A visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

She is survived by daughter, Danielle (Mick) Rathermel; son, Steve (Sue) Dooley and daughter-in-law Debbie Dooley; grandchildren, Cristey Long, Joe (Amy) Rathermel, Allison (Josh) Prohaska, Connor, Daniel, and Sophie Dooley; great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Julianna Long and Lane Prohaska; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Connors and Paralee Dooley and many nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, her son Jimmy, granddaughter Caitey Rathermel, parents, brother Jimmy and sister Margaret.

Alice Irene Connors was born March 4, 1935 to James and Ruth (Snell) Connors in Sioux Falls, SD. The family moved back to Fort Dodge when she was six months old. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1953. It was there in Homeroom 8 she met Dan Dooley while working on a Homecoming float. They married on August 13, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church and celebrated nearly 61 happy years together.

Alice was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. She enjoyed fixing family dinners, long lunches with friends, playing bridge with her group of 50+ years, reading and knitting baby blankets for the newest members of the clan.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
