Cynthia McAtee
October 5, 1943 - July 30, 2022

Cynthia McAtee, 78, of Brooklyn, Iowa passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving daughters after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was also under the care of Essence of life Hospice in Amana IA.

Cindy was born on October 5, 1943, in State Center Iowa. To Martin and Margaret Richeson. She graduated from Rhodes High School (A Rhodes scholor as she said). She married Francis McAtee in Rhodes, Iowa on February 4, 1962. To this union two children were born. Cindy worked numerous jobs from Hairdresser, Fisher Control, Marshalltown Instruments and retired from Marshalltown Trowel. After retirement, Fran and Cindy moved to Holiday Lake where They both were on the Original Board of Kent Chapel ---She also played the Organ for 9 years-right up until Fran could no longer attend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, She was a Holiday Lake Hand & foot Player, Loved to quilt, paint, and made The Best caramel brownies.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters Tracy (Donald) Roudabush of Brooklyn, IA and Christine (Michael) Klosterman of Brooklyn, IA; grandchildren Ashley (Corey) Phillips of Grinnell, IA, Ryan (Jessie) Roudabush of Farmington, MN, Brittany Klosterman of Marshalltown, IA, Aurelia Roudabush of Brooklyn, IA, and Shane Roudabush of Vinton, IA; great-grandchild Rebecca Turner of Ames, IA and coming soon Amara Phillips; Her sister Jennifer Mahlow of Ankeny, IA, brother in law Ken (Mary) McAtee of South Bend IN, several cousins nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Margaret Richeson, husband Fran McAtee, brother-in-law Robert McAtee, brother-in-law Robert Mahlow and in-laws Ray and Vivian McAtee.

Services will be held at the The Kent Chapel on 8/27/2022 at 11:00am with Her very good friend Pastor Dorothy Banzhaf presiding. A luncheon will be held at 12:00 at the Holiday Lake Community Center.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Kent Chapel, Essence of Life Hospice or to the family for their discretion.


Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with the cremation care of Cindy.
