Patty was born August 27, 1932 in Calumet, MI to Ralph and Esther Tiberg. She grew up in Duluth, MN before moving to Marquette in 1939. Patty spent most of her life in Marquette, attending local schools, graduating from Graveraet High School class of 1950. The teams played in the UP and Green Bay to raise money for the 1st Plexiglas that was installed at the Lakeview Arena.

In September 2015, Patty and fellow hockey player, Millie Hanson, were named Grand Marshalls in the Marquette Annual Hockey Parade.

In 1959 Patty was an extra in the movie "Anatomy of a Murder" where she met many Hollywood stars. And she can be seen in most of the courtroom scenes.

Friends were most important to her, whether it was Sunday breakfast at Hardees, Big Boy, or playing bridge, Patty always said, "Old friends were her treasures in life."
