Brian L. McLoud, 64, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, July 24th, 2022, in Fort Dodge.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held at Corpus Christi Cemetery.
Among his survivors is his wife of 44 years Sherrie of Fort Dodge, siblings Greg (Connie) of Oregon, Judy of Iowa, Debbie (Ray) of Texas, Mark (Maureen) of Arizona, Beth of Iowa, 13 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many close friends that were his family.
He was preceded by his mother Marjorie Hickey, father Gary McLoud, stepfather Ronald Hickey, grandmother Nellie Powell, infant nephew Jeremy McLoud, mother and father-in-law Jerry and Ginger Ewing, grandmother and grandfather-in-law Bill and Ruth Bockert.
Brian Lee McLoud was born on December 31, 1957, in Fort Dodge to Gary and Marjorie McLoud. He grew up in Gowrie and attended schools there and graduated from Prairie Community School in 1976. On July 15, 1978, he was united in marriage to Sherrie Ewing. He worked at Iowa Beef and Hormel; later working in construction in his family business that he owned and operated. Brian was very active for many years in Duck's Unlimited and his hunting dog's group VDD/GNA. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his dogs. Brian would often be heard retelling stories of a pheasant, goose, and duck hunts with his buddies, Sherrie and Brian enjoyed their trips to Yellowstone and going out west to visit family. He had strong sense of family history; he remembered many details that were passed down to him.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
