In loving memory of

Judy Meyer
May 14, 1945 - July 23, 2022

Judith Ann Meyer was born on May 14, 1945 to Darrell and Ruth Harvey in Creston, Iowa. She was the oldest of 3 children. She graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1963.

Judy married her high school sweetheart, Kirk Herbert in 1963, and they had 4 daughters: Christi, Pam, Shari, and Julie. The couple moved to Denison after Pam was born. Tragically, Kirk passed away on a fishing trip in 1971. Judy married John Meyer 2 years later. To this union, Sheila was born. They were married for 32 years.

When Judy was working, it was bookkeeping. Although, It was not easy finding time to work between her 4 bowling leagues, her bridge card club, cleaning up after her girls and their friends, going to their sporting events, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Judy loved her yearly trips to state and national bowling tournaments with her "Lucky Lane" girls.

Judy loved her grandchildren and they adored her. They loved being around her because she was a great listener, funny, and supported them in everything.

Judy entered Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn in July of 2021. She was battling end stage COPD and the beginnings of dementia. Thankfully, she always knew anyone that visited her and was still able to enjoy conversation with them. Judy passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 77 years, two months and nine days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kirk; son-in-law, Rick Leinbaugh; and brother-in-law, Jon Grimm. She leaves behind her five daughters: Christi Longstaff of Des Moines, Pam Meyer of Denison, Shari Leinbaugh of Omaha, Julie(Larry) Thompson of Denison, and Sheila (Jim) Hansen of Harlan; eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Dereck, Lindsey, Dillon, Zach, Parker, Bailey, Chloe, and Sophie; seven great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; siblings: Steve Harvey of Des Moines and Debbie Grimm of Rochester; many other relatives and friends.
