Donna Louise Thurman
Canton - Donna L. Thurman, 83, of Canton, passed away at her home on Friday, July 22, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on October 12, 1938 in Farmington to the late Hazel and Charles Thurman. She was also preceded in death by her son Marty Crouse, two brothers; Chester and Raymond, two sisters; Darlene and Joanne, sister-in-law Ruth Thurman, brother-in law Bill Bugos, 2 nephews; Eddie Bugos and Chuck Bugos, great-grandson Tyler Jones and multiple great-grand babies that never made it to her arms this side of Heaven.
She is survived by her son Jim (Lori) Eddy, daughter Teresa (Wes) Jones, brother Dick Thurman, sister-in-law Shirley Thurman, 7 grandchildren; Justin (Kim) Jones, Jared (Devin) Jones, Tyrel Jones, Jamin (Kelsie) Jones, Michael (Erin) Eddy, Jessica (Chester) Ruff, Mark (Alyssa) Eddy, 22 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Donna ran a beauty shop from her home in Canton, IL. for over 50 years. She loved her work and the friends and family she would get to visit with while doing their hair. She was very successful in her business and touched many lives thorough it, but Donna will be remembered most for all the love she gave her family throughout the years. She cooked a Christmas feast like no other, held the best sleepovers and birthday parties, had a soft spot for raising yorkies, always had an open-door policy (especially for family), and was known as "Grandma Donna" to any child who darkened her door.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton. Donna touched many lives and will be loved and cherished for eternity. Our family looks forward to our reunion with her in Heaven some day!
Services will be at 3 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Norris Cemetery.

"Donna was like my second Mom, since I was 4 or 5 she cut gum out of my hair in 4th grade when the boy who sat behind me at school had literally matted it in . I cried she calmed me telling, me, I can fix it and it will be fine you\'ll be cute. Her smile would light an entire room. And she made the Best Piscetti (spaghetti) Teresa and I ever ate . There are so many memories of Her . I can\'t mention them all but she was a Great Mom and her motherly charm inspired a few childhood stories that I wrote of Teresa and I, in the Invasion of be Pumpkin Patch . How we crawled under the fence into the neighbors pumpkin patch to see if the Great Pumpkin was Real. She will be so very missed, Until we meet again "
