"So very sorry to hear that Russ passed. I had the pleasure of waiting on him for many years when I was a teenager waitressing and then visiting with him at the restaurant later in life. I always enjoyed talking to him. "

"Russell was a classmate of my husband in the class of 1966. In later years we saw him and chatted about the fact that his face was on the book cover of portrait of Maquoketa, so everyone has seen his face. I am so sad that his passing is not being celebrated. Glad I got to meet you and know you , as my husband Carlyle knew you in high school. "

"I remember Russell from many years ago. My family lived on S. Matteson, so we were pretty much neighbors. Russell always stopped to talk. He was well mannered, kind hearted & definitely worth listening to! In my grown up years, we were still neighbors, as I now live on S. Clark. I'll never forget his soft voice & smile. Thoughts & prayers for his family."
