Mickey Mello
August 12, 1945 - July 7, 2022

Mickey Mello, 76, was born August 12, 1945 in Dos Palos, CA. attended local schools and graduated from Dos Palos High. She attended Oro Loma Baptist Church. After meeting John Mello, the love of her life, they were married, joined their families and continued to grow together.

Mickey was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Y.L.I. She enjoyed working for National Drug Store and Dr. Yip; but she always supported the family business by doing the bookkeeping for Mello's Harobed Service. She retired in 2002 due to health issues.

She and John loved to go on cruises with family and friends; they also enjoyed taking short trips to the casinos and their annual Super Bowl trip to Pismo. Mickey's greatest pleasure was spending time with her many grandchildren & great grandchildren this included her annual Christmas get-together & raffle where things would sometime get a little crazy.

Mickey was a friend to everyone, she was known for her quick wit, sharp come-backs, and humor.

She is preceded in death by her husband John; her parents James and Magalene Woodard; Stepson Mark Mello; one grandson Noah Moreno; and siblings Dorthy Dowdy, James Woodard Jr & LeeJoy Kizer.

Mickey is survived by her children: Rick (Darcie) Accardo, Tony (Nicole) Accardo, Sandra (Helder) Costa, and Mike Mello; 11 grandchildren: Carissa, Justin, Nicolas, Neica, Kyle, Mark, Andrew, Alberto, Jacquelyn, Helder Jr., and Melissa; and 9 great grandchildren: Joshua, Owen, Finn, Levi, Archer, Harmony, Larissa, Anessa and Kayden; 5 siblings: Eany Azevedo, Glinda Souza, Bill Woodard, George Woodard & Dera Applegate; and Andrea Christmas whom she loved like a daughter.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel; the rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m.; burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapels~Los Banos.

She was the rock of her family and always willing to help others, even though she was having health issues of her own. She will be dearly missed by all of us, but we will see each other again.
